control be a lot easier? Prevention instead of intervention?

Obviously this does not apply in the case of rape or incest, but I mean what responsible woman goes around having unprotected sex ?

I absolutely agree. It is better to prevent a potentially unwanted pregnancy. However, there are those who oppose educating our youth on how to do so. They prefer an abstinence only approach. It does not work.

Edit: In addition, judgmental attitudes create a dangerous mindset in some. They believe that if they are prepared with birth control, it equates with a conscious decision to be sexually active (well, duh). Conversely, they believe that not being prepared via having possession of condoms, taking the pill or use of any contraceptive indicates they are not planning to "sin". They then wind up having sex (because it's normal to want to do so), and become pregnant. It's pretty screwy what our society and families do to some women and girls.

i don't really support condoms becuase they give kids an excuse to have sex when it is possible to have sex and get pregnet.

The best solution would be to develop easily reversible vasectomies , legislate that they be performed as a matter of course on all males over 16 and then require that they can;t be reversed until after the male(s ) in question has been married for at least three years.
The problem is that the religious folks will whine about that easy of a solution too because they will claim that it promotes promiscuity ..and it does But given the option of abortion or unwanted children reversible vasectomies would be least offensive to all parties involved.

A. Options, mi chica.
I would always want my daughter and other females to have options.
I am not worried about her but there are PRICKS out there that will take advantage of females. The last dweebo that attempted a sexual assault on her, walked to the police car with an Ice bag on his privates.

Responsible men and women can have a rubber break and foam tends to breakdown pretty quickly! SH!T happens.

There are a few problems with this statement. The first is that many people do not take responsibility for their sexual activity because they have been shamed into thinking that if they take appropriate steps prior to intercourse, they are somehow "bad" people.

Secondly, there are times when birth control fails. There are no forms of birth control besides sterilization that provide 100 percent contraception. There have been many instances when a vasectomy has failed. Also for example, many forms of antibitics render birth control pills ineffective.

There are also times when a family is faced with serious birth defects and may not have the resources necessary to provide this child with the proper care.

It's like a trapeze. If there's no net, you won't swing. As long as you have the net, you're willing to attempt the death jump.

You forget, some people don't believe that anyone should use birth control and birth control can fail.

And there are plenty of responsible women who have consensual unprotected sex. It happens.

Ask around, you'd be surprised. Or just check out the Women's Health thread on YA!

i agree same thing i always said but that's to much of a problem to the people who get abortions they use that as a means of birth control
