Aliens who could do this would have evolved far in advance of humans, and as with all living species, the most dominant species has a tendency to eliminate it main rivals. Humans would quickly be exterminated by the possessors of such advanced technology. Perhaps if there are islands of life in the galaxy, we are very fortunate that they are separated by an ocean of interstellar space, with no communications, and more importantly no hostile visits possible.
