I think it possibly because people know what they like with movies and other people's opinions are irrelevant to some extent.
For example, there are loaRAB of films that I have opinions on, good and bad, but this forum, as I've pointed out before, seems more interested in 'your favourite movie quote' or 'your top 10 horror films' etc. Trivial stuff.
