Why should Americans believe that a "debate" should influence their votes?

In the US they really do not have Presidential debates. They just have a few Questions and they take turns talking.

A debate is exciting. Each person has to respond to something they just heard from the opposition...They have to have a brain cell in the first place.

Not just memorize a bunch of "talking points"!

So what is the point of watching these guys say the same old baloney?

Rewatch the 2000 debates and you'll see just how revealing debates can be. A year before the 9/11 attacks Bush was already cementing his anti-Saddam position while Gore was focused on the social security problem (which remains unfixed) and the importance of responsible government spending (we now have the highest national debt ever and we're about to add a nearly $1 trillion bail out package that will all be debt).
Bush actually won over many voters in the debates, however, with his wit and country charm.

Nothing will influence your vote if you wouldn't wanted to change
Want mre of Same Vote Mc Bush/Palin 08
Want Real Changes vote Obama/Biden 08

because most people are sheeple. they vote the way mommy and daddy told them too and cant articulate anything but what the democratic channel (CNN) and republican channel (FOX news) tell them they should think.
