EC is getting worse with this Rand Paul thing than Tony Stark was after Sarah Palin was nominated.
 
He's equating both the tea party and the gop with racism and bigotry. Moderate republicans are going to run from this image, and the tea party is going to come to dominate any dissent from the right.

end result = moderates on both sides across the country will vote against the gop.

I think it's rather amusing that the tea party has been able to shift the focus of the political debate to an issue that was "settled" over 40 years ago. to me, that doesn't bode well for the democrats and the "roll back civil rights" movement might even catch on.

if the criticism doesn't gain traction, then rolling back civil rights legislation is bound to gain ground. it already is in AZ and a couple other states passing similar legislation
