Cadillac customization popularity? Why people think in Hip-Hop that Texas started the Cadillac grill and other Cadillac customization popularity?

Everyone in the Hip-Hop community now and days that see music videos from Texas rap artists like Slim Thug and Paul Wall, think that the cars that they see on videos like Cadillacs that r customized with the grills and all think that it all including wired rims, all started from Texas, which it didn't cause the pimpmobile popularity had first started in the 1970's in the northeastern part of the United States like New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania then spreaded out throughout the U.S. The 1972 movie Super Fly is and example and evidence of the popularity that had started in New York with the 1972 Cadillac Eldorado on the movie that was customized by Les Dunham Coach in New Jersey, but not 4 the movie but 4 the person such as the REAL pimp who went by the name K.C. which the car really belonged to.

Same with the wired rims u see in the videos, which was already brought back to popularity in the West Coast when the West Coast rap was rising when in the west coast lowriders where(and still 2day) had wired rims.

So why is Texas is getting all the credit for starting this Cadillac customization trend even though it REALLY didn't.
