Why on my ps3 does it say "access point not found" every 5 minutes?

Am I doing something wrong here? do i have a bad one? It stays connected on a strong signal but loses connection like every 2 to 5 minutes. What can I do to fix this? it passes all the connection tests

this is a 60 GB using WIFI?? I would say maybe get a new router... or is your cable/DSL dropping the signal? What kind of router do you have, cable modem/DSL modem, and who is your ISP?

yuck, maybe your ps3 has a bad wifi card in it. Take your other ps3 out of the box and sell this one if that works for ya!

i think im just going to leave the cable plugged in while gaming. works fine that way and its not much of an issue

See if there is a BIOS update for your router. They fix lots of shit all the time with each BIOS update. Mine needed an update to work well with XBox when it first came out.

I only used a wired connection for gaming, but thats only cuz i DID notice a significant enough drop on the connection from wired to wireless. Prolly just cuz it's a cheap D-Link

If there wasn't not too much of a drop, Id go wireless fo shizzo
