why non-renewable energy has been used so much until now?

I think it has to do with the ability to use whatever source as an energy. We couldn't transfer trees, for example, into energy as efficiently (in terms of extraction, use, etc.) as oil.

Why make things harder and more expensive than they need to be? I don't want to pay more for that. Do you? Non_renewable energy, nuclear, electrical, mechanical or what forms of energy ?? In mass-populated countries, where electrical energy is insufficient, ways and means have resurrected. Nuclear energy, where the output to input ratio is high, as compared to hydro, mechanical or other means. Why is it used. Try a reconditioned battery to a new one. Or a new technolgy to the old. Progress is eminent. We go for newer, better ideas. That's human kind....
Dont bother about the source. there's Russia, North Korea, Pakistan, CNN News provides it, not me.......

Actually, the use of so called non-renewable energy is a rather recent thing; mostly due to the industrial revolution and the fact that it is easier to store and transport for the amount of energy provided.

non renewable energy was and is used because it's relatively easily obtainable and usable. There is history too. When engines were first invented they were built to accommodate non renewable resources and thus an infrastructure was built around these. Its hard to convert an entire infrastructure now that it is so largely supportive of non renewable resources.
