Why my Yahoo Messenger shuts down when I try to click any ID in Yahoo Chat rooms?

I am using Bitdefender total security 2010 in Windows XP. I am using Yahoo Messenger 10 and when I try to click any ID in chat rooms, then the messenger shuts down. Why does this happen? Please tell me the reason and the solution to this problem.
