Why my Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus GT-S7500 smartphone is connected to my windows XP laptop through USB cable?

For data transfer or virus scan, it is not getting connected. There is no driver CD also given in the mobile pack. What can I do? Is there something am missing to do?
