Why isn't there a white history month? (Or why any at all?)?

Or better yet, why do we still have history months? I know that slavery wasn't that long ago and stuff, but I kinda think the purpose of history months (to make the people proud of themselves) has been fulfilled, so why don't we have them taken off?
