Why isn't my Macbook Pro reading my Tascam USB Audio/MIDI Interface?

I have Garageband and Protools and I even tried my Mbox2 but both softwares and my laptop are not reading both hardwares. They work. The lights are on. I installed all the CD's they came with. I used to have them working on my old Macbook but not my new Macbook Pro. Helphelphelp
