Why isnt my 1990 ford F150 AOD shifting?

i just replace my rear main seal in my 1990 ford f150 2-wheel drive automatic and after putting the tranny back in and reconnecting everything it only has reverese and first we pulled it back off and reset the torque converter and still nothing same thing im just wondering what we could have overlooked
