Why isn't infidelity punishable by law?

Seems kinda weird to me since it would pretty much cause a family to be destroyed, possibly even emotionally scar some people and even make things become violent.
Did I say I wanted laws like that? or as you just trying to be a smartass? I'm just wondering why we never had a law like that when we were pretty moral police officers back in the day.

We're in a "morale decline"?? Seriously, this nation is siiiick in the head. Look how they treat women in Hollywood, look how they bash men at Berkeley. Look how they bash Sarah Palin and idolize Caroline Kennedy!

**** cheaters, selfish scum! Don't you have any honor? Where is your pride?

It is...
it is called DIVORCE
which is a legal action
and, believe me... if you've ever gone through one
it IS .... punishment !!

I think you make some valid points. However, since infidelity and fornication are no longer moral issues but more in the line of recreation these days, it would be difficult to prosecute.

It's like a divorce. Now a divorce is not illegal is it?
It's possible, reasonable belief, that it could destroy families, emotionally scar some people, and make things become violent.
It doesn't always happen.

Probably because it's so popular in this day and age that the prosecutors would most likely be hypocrites, if you get my drift
