Why is Wrigley Field such a joke?

Ive attended WhiteSox, Orioles, and Royals games in a vehicle and all those commutes/parking issues were pretty much painless. So why is Wrigley such a hassle. It seems that im reading that ill have to pay $40??!! or park two miles away. Keep in mind Im going with an older couple and one of them is in not the best of health (liver failed about a year 1/2 ago). Does anyone have good leads to make this as painless as possible? How about handicapped parking situation? Any info would be appreciated!
 
There is Plenty of Parking near Wrigley. Now if you want to avoid any parking fees an all that sort of stuff i would reccommend getting to the ball park multiple hours earlier so you could get a handicapped parking spot. There are plenty of spots downtown that if you needed to burn 5-6 Hours to assure you get great parking you can def do that. Wrigley is tough. Its in a weird area down there an nothing like other pall parks. I hope you find something that will definately work for you. But chicago isnt exactly the easiest city to work with.
