Why is Windows Media Player burning my CD so slowly?

It used to be, Windows Media Player would burn a CD in a matter of minutes.

Now, it takes anywhere from an hour to several hours-- even if there's not many songs.

Why is it doing this?

I checked the options, and it says it's burning on the "fastest" level.

I'm attempting to burn a CD as we speak... It's been going for about 3 hours, and it's only completed 2 of 10 songs.

It's just so aggravating... Hope someone can help.
it's about a 1 year old computer.

I guess u need to clean ur CD driver!! I had the same problem after cleaning it does work fast!!

how old is you're computer?
if you still have a warranty on it you can take it back to the store and they should give you a new one.

I had this problem a few weeks ago, and it turns out I had a virus in my computer that was causing it to run so slowly. is anything else going slower than normal? if so, you might want to check your anti virus software.
