Why is verizon so shitty?

I have a pantech jest and it won't "SYNC" I went to verizon's page to seek support, I search Pantech jest.. nothing. I went to their forums and to register (IE to post)and they require a non-existent "Three digit email code". Why such a shitty company Verizon?
