why is this line one of the most popular & memorable in movie history?

uts the very end scene of CASABLANCA when Captain Renault and Rick Blaine(Humprey Bogart) walk off into the fog with one of the most memorable exit lines in movie history: "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
whats so memorable i dont understand?
