Why is there any need to ask questions if someone is an atheist? Why do they even

discuss anything? end of story...
Someone told me if I mention the word "atheist" on here that anything will cause an uproar and she was right. All kinds of false assumptions about me and my own beliefs - wow. Most of you seem to think that anyone who asks such a question is a "Christian" - whatever that is. It seems like the atheists are way more defensive than the religious people. I wasn't meaning to attack anyone... sorry that a few folks took it that way.

Having said that, a LOT of your answers were really good and made me laugh! Thanks!
I could be wrong but it seems like any time you stereotype some group and start a sentence with, "THEY ALL...." etc. you are being ignorant.

Christians don't think, Atheists don't think etc. Puhleeez!

Oh, by the way Fred - there is no WRONG QUESTION.
CRYSTAL - very good point. Some of the more positive points from both the atheists and the religious here are very thought provoking and I am impressed with the good heart displayed by some here. THANK YOU!

It seems like the more someone's mind is already made up the less they can learn. I try to be a free thinker. I just don't often get into discussions like this, but I love to see the kind of intelligent ideas some have put forward on here.
The Abyss - I think that's called "piling on." Grin!
M to the R Mighty RA - isn't that kind of a narrow-minded view?

Mr. Derp!! What on earth is up with you? Just tell us straight what you REALLY think please.
KAKA2009 - you win the prize. I think next time I put a question on here, I will award a real prize for the best answer. Is that allowed???

Take heart. They are a challenge for some and not so for others.

Their agenda is to try and turn people's minds from God through questions.

It won't work. Because we all know God turns people's minds to Him through giving ANSWERS!

Because we want to learn new things and we want other people to also learn new things, so that we can all have more knowledge and be more productive and build a better, happier civilization in the future.

Well in all reality the fact that they are here indicates that they are indeed anxious to learn about the LORD God. If they were not they wouldn't spend any time at all here. I know for a fact I have not nor do I ever plan on going to the gay, bisexual forum.

There are many reasons why people do things, I can list some, but not all of course.

1) They want re-assurance of their non belief
2) They want to get others riled up, in order to feel superior (Emotional outbursts are often seen as primative, and irrational)
3) Mind stimulation (It is good practice to debate, it gets you using your brain, and come up with new ideas, and is interactive)
4) To gain new perspective as to why people are not athiest

etc..just a few ideas.

Because atheists have a helluva lot more to discuss than people who fantasize about myths, ghosts, spirits, and things that go bump in the night. Atheists have to use "reason" and "logic" to help make sense out of a chaotic world. Religious nuts do not have to think at all, just "believe" that their world is the right world. We had a cedar post on the old farm that could do better. LOL
