Why is there a news feed regarding John Edwards' aide's book proposal & its assertions

about his baby? I kept seeing this feed yesterday about Andrew Young's book, but this is very old stuff they're reporting as though it's some news flash. John Edwards already spoke publicly, and I saw it here in North Carolina, about the daughter of Rielle Hunter being his baby several weeks ago. He did it right after the paternity test results were in. Was this only local news, or something, that's just hitting national news? I'd be really surprised if most people didn't know this already. The media is usually all over that kind of stuff, and it was on mid-day news all over North Carolina, even announced all morning prior to the on-air statement that he was expected to acknowledge paternity.
Yes, the stuff about him telling Rielle he'd marry her once his wife died also came out a very long time ago, and was disgusting, especially to those of us here in North Carolina, who greatly love and admire Liz Edwards. She's shown so much strength through the death of their teen son, the cancer, and the prospect of dying before her very young son and daughter even reach puberty. She's a great lady, who didn't deserve this. As for our former senator, her husband, he's regarded now as lower than pond scum in these parts.
 
I thought I was the only one who saw that! I think the media is just using it to stir up more crap. You know his wife is very ill and fighting for her life. Why keep doing this? It's a real shame. :~)
 
That is odd, because any coverage I have seen is him admitting the affair, but denying paternity. Unlike some people most of my peers and I knew all along he was the father, once the original story broke, he and his wife knew it. She knew about the affair when he was running for president, so she is just as guilty about lying to the public. Cancer or no cancer, doesn't give you a pass to lie your @ s s off to John/Jane Public.
 
I think it reflects back on "Dirty Laundry" - "Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down...!" The lyrics aren't the ultimate statement on the media, but they are close.
 
Edwards may be in trouble legally because the question of whether or not payments to Hunter while he was campaigning could be considered campaign contributions. Andrew Young is claiming Edwards told him he wanted to marry his girlfriend after Elizabeth died of cancer so there is alot of new stuff being revealed.
