Why is the United States slowly dwindling down our rights?

I'll admit, some rights have been kept: Abortion, medical marijuana, gay marriage was recently given and is likely on the correctional path.

But other rights are having a war brought upon them: They are trying to make fireworks illegal in my state, it isn't the largest concern now, but it is an upcoming battle.

The Patriot Act: An example of bullcrap, they have the right to listen to us because of a terrorist threat, they can also imprison you without anyone knowing where you are without trial. Obviously neither one of these has affected me, and they probably never will, but I don't want the government listening in on my phone calls at all!! It is my right to privacy.

Freedom of Speech is already declining. A woman wears and anti-bush shirt and she gets kicked off of an airplane... Now that is old news, but I see some of our rights being taken.

This country is still pretty free, but I don't believe this is what America is about.

I would appreciate answers from Conservatives.

Because we allow it and have been allowing it in our group stupidity. It may well be past the point of no return.
