We just inherited a washing machine (free, so we can't complain too much) that is giving us an annoying problem. It was banging around all over the place on spin cycle, so just to test it I ran a small load with no clothing inside. When the washer spun out, once again, bang-bang-bang-bang...
The root of the problem is the tub/drum inside always sits off to the right, as if the washer was leaning. It's not though, only the tub is leaning. If I push it back to the center, it slowly leans back over to the right. Because of this, when a load is spinning, no matter how balanced the load is, the tub is not, so bang-bang-bang....etc.
What can be causing this? The washer runs very quietly and cleanly...except on SPIN!
