Why is the surroundings when i'm playing need for speed hot pursuit black?

So i am playing need for speed hot pursuit.. and on the first track itself.. like when i start the race.. my surroundings are completely dark. and i can't see anything :s.

is it because my laptop does not have the minimum requirements to play the game? :s
