Why is the Sony T90 camera so weird?

why is it that the cover for the green, pink, bronze, blue and red come with a camera lens cover (the part that goes up to cover the lens) they all look really like shiny and looks like you can see part of the steel like it was cut. but for the black it's like plastic like the back of a black iphone?

I'm not quite sure what your question is. They wanted to make a camera with unique looks so it would sell well? And btw, it's not steel, that's too heavy for cameras that small, it's aluminum.
