Why is the desire to fall in love usually seen as a feminine trait?

Perhaps I'm unusual for a guy, but the thought of falling in love sounds much more exciting to me than simply having sex. Yet, this would cause much of society to label me as effeminate and even non-masculine. Why is this? I'm not against sex, but it's just a quick shot of endorphins, while being in love can last for 50+ years.

I understand guys have a reputation for being sex-obsessed, but if they aren't, why is it seen as less masculine?
