why is the bail 8,888.00 for bond for a fake inspection sticker?

the car is my uncle name i bought it from him but he didn't say the inspection sticker was a fake and now my boyfriend is in jail for the past 24 hrs he got a bond of 8,888.00 and his arraignment is in a week should i let him sit it out will the bond get lower what will happen when that day comes?
 
It's that high because it's a crime to have fake stickers. It's not going to get any lower. As the new owner of the vehicle, it's your responsibility to have it re-inspected (legally).

It is that much because a fake inspection sticker is falsifying governmental documents and leave a dangerous vehicle on the road.
