Why is the album Funeral by Arcade Fire always considered to be one of the best?

It seems like on all top album charts Funeral is always in spot number one or two. I just do not understand. Don't get me wrong, I love Arcade Fire. I just think that Funeral is highly overrated, despite being a great album. So why is it always praised so highly?
 
Probably because of influence. Influence is the reason why every crappy album and band are considered great: Nirvana. If influence was a girl, it would be the dumb, ugly, fat friend in a group of otherwise hot girls. (Girls named talent and song writing skills.)
 
i've never seen funeral on the number one or two spot of a top album of all time chart. you must have meant for indie only albums. It is one of the best indie albums ive ever heard but I don't listen to much indie I listen to mostly metal and avant garde stuff.
