Why is Switzerland, by many, considered a unique nation? Discuss three factors

Switzerland is considered unique because of a number of reasons:
- It is the only neutral, unaligned country in Europe.
- It has never been successfully invaded, and hasn't been involved in any wars since 1815. It maintains its strict neutrality by being very difficult to invade geographically, and every male citizen is well-trained in the use of weapons, and is available in an instant, to contribute to the defence of the country: it would be difficult to successfully invade.
- It is an extremely efficient and well-run country with an ultra-low crime rate. It is said to be a "clock-work" country because it runs as smoothly as a good clock!!
- It is quite wealthy despite have very little industry, because it has long been the banking center of Europe. Swiss Banks are known for their superb levels of stability and secrecy: when you put your money in a Swiss Bank Account, it is SAFE!!!
- It is officially multi-ethnic, with 4 official languages: French, Italian, German and Romansh: a sort of "low Latin" language left over from the Roman Empire.

I'm not going to do your homework for you, but I will give you things to think about:
-Switzerland declares itself neutral in most world affairs
-Switzerland has "direct democracy": they ask their citizens to decide about A LOT of things. Most countries only have "representative democracy", whereby politicians decide for the citizens.
-Switzerland has a huge banking system and secrecy is guaranteed. If you put money into a Swiss bank account, even if police from America, Britain, Japan want to find out about your financial transactions in Switzerland, they would find it difficult to get any answers. The EU doesn't like Switzerland's secrecy in this regard, and doesn't let Switzerland enjoy the same status as Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein (all non-EU members who are in the European Economic Area); hence Switzerland is classed as merely in "European economic space".
