Why is so much media coverage being given to Annie Le, the murdered Yale grad student?

Is it because she's pretty? Or smart? Or rich? I used to live in New Haven and people are murdered and go missing quite frequently there (sad to say). But they don't get national attention because they are black or poor or less than beautiful.

I feel for her family and in no way do I wish to diminish what they are going through right now.

I have a problem with news outlets that focus on the "pretty, young" girls that are abducted (Jaycee Dugar) and murdered (Annie Le) and ignore the countless others that may never be found because they are considered throw aways in our society and not worthy of our attention.

In reality, who cares about young, sick, old, poor? When it's rich young student the country on top of it's head.

I PERSONALLY THINK she was killed by an asian who really liked her and was jealous she was marrying a white guy! I mean every student there is Intelligent a wealthy so it can't be that! It's kind of funny she was killed the day before her wedding! Someone prob tried to talk her out of it and the convo got heated!
