why is skateboarding considered a "guys sport"?

I love skateboarding... it's sooo much fun. And ya, im a girl. So when I go to parks, the guys are either realllyy nice like overly nice or completely ignore me all together. But take snowboarding, or surfing. Those are two board sports where it is not unusual at all to see a girl participating. So is it bad that I'm a girl skater, and should I quit? and why do people think that its a guy sport? thanks!
 
Idk why guys think its a guys sport it could just be that we dont see many girl skaters and the reason they are either nice to you or ignore you really isnt as big a deal as you think some people are more talkative than others and if they ignore you and let you skate that is cool to. Around my area the only time we ever have a problem with anyone is when they come into our spots and get in our way or try the same trick were trying. but you should not quit dont let these guys get under your skin because they feel a little strange about it to just show up regularly and you should be on speaking terms in no time AND DONT EVER QUIT
