Why is pollock not in fish and chip shops?????

i really can't understand why pollock is"nt in fish and chip shops its supposed to be more sustainable then cod and haddock stocks . have you tried pollock ? you really should try it it is a very tasty fish indeed i would say as good as cod . give it a try its a great fish and its cheaper than cod . i was nt kneen my self but after trying it i was very surprised at how good it is
 
i guess it's because the suppliers don't recognize how much more they could make from pollock. also many people like me have not tried it as it is less common than other fish, so people would be less willing to go out and buy some incase they don't like it.
overall i think it's because people are less welcoming to this fish and less people have tried pollock compared to cod and haddock, so the fish and chip shops do not sell it as it could loose more money for them.

Pollock is the shite of the sea. Dirty dirty fish. And as for COD - it's full of worms and parasites. You gut a cod and look at the liver and there's pustules which, when popped open, release a parasitic worm. The visible worms are picked out the flesh by hand, then they go through processing under infra-red so the processors can see the smaller ones. Anything else is left and cooked in your tasty fish supper. Or should that be 'fish, parasite and chips, please'...... It must be the parasites that are adding an extra flavour for you. Enjoy! You don't get many fishermen eating cod or pollock, so that tells you something!
 
You really don't want to know what's in the batter if you walk into your local chippy after a few beers and order a large fried pollock with chips :o)

Apparently the general public do not like asking for a pollock.
