Why is NY Gov Patterson telling Obama to take a hike?

Because he is in denial about his chances for election. His poll numbers are in the basement and there is no way he is going to win, but his ego will not allow him to see this. Obama, as the head of his party, did not overstep his bounds when he suggested that they might prefer to have a Democrat elected to an "anyone but Patterson" loss. Any other party would want the same thing.
Patterson actually does suck, to bad the last guy got caught with his pants down. Eliot Spitzer was actually a better governor. He is too like a republican for my taste, and is producing results like one too.

You guys don't get it. Democrats don't want to be forced to vote for a Democrat simply because he is a democrat. Democrats actually look at the issues. And if its going to be between voting for him or someone (republican) who might do a better Job. Democrats will either vote republican or not vote at all. The party knows this and in order to keep the party in place we need a viable Democrat to challenge the Republican. Of course you guys want Patterson to stay, cause that will mean that democrats will lose.

David Patterson sucks as governor. His approval rating is at 20% and rapidly falling. He's trying to shift blame for his failures.
