...the Afghan/Pakistan border? The worst impact of the invasion of Iraq and the long war that has followed has been that we have failed to confront adequately Al-Qaeda and the Taliban -- our actual enemies -- where they are based, in Afghanistan and the border with Pakistan.
Nobody seems to be emphasizing the point that we still have not committed adequate forces to fight those who actually perpetrated 9/11. We have not caught Bin Laden and numerous other top Al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders. The opposite -- both movements have grown, and on the very territory where we have known all along they are based!
What gives here?
Is Obama or McCain going to take this issue seriously in this presidential campaign? Do we have to wait for another 9/11 to happen, or what?
