My Yorkshire Terrier keeps on eating her throw up. She throws up because shes either eaten to much or she ate something she wasn't suppose to. Then after she throws up she eats it. Its drive me crazy and grosses me out. I try to get her away from it and she still goes to eat. Even when i clean it up she goes and licks the spot where she threw up EVEN after I cleaned it up! Please help!!!!!

It isn't gross to her at all, only to you. If it is her food then let her have it, it won't hurt her.

If she does it often though then you need to find why.

Could be she pigs it down too fast. If so limit the amount in the dish and add when each bit has gone.

First of all, you need to try to prevent the throwing up by not giving her too much to eat & by making sure she doesn't get ahold of things she's not supposed to.

Secondly, that's what dogs do. They eat their vomit. If you don't want her to do it, you either need to try to train her to "leave it" while you clean it up or you'll need to crate her or put her in a room or have someone hold her while you clean it up. Nature's Miracle (or something of the sort) is probably your best bet to eliminate the smells & decrease her interest in the spot, but either way, she is most likely going to go back to the spot, cleaned up or not, to sniff it, just b/c she'll remember where it's at.

To see why your Yorkie is throwing up, I would suggest taking your Yorkie to the vet and get it tested for different allergies. Then read on the dog food bag what is in the food and see if she's allergic to anything in the food.
At some drug stores, they carry a special pet disinfectant cleaner that will remove the smell of the puke. Your Yorkie probably smells where she threw up and thinks she could still somehow eat it. If you use this cleaner, she may not be able to smell it anymore and won't lick the floor.
After your Yorkie throws up, though, put her right outside and clean the floor where she puked. When you are absolutely sure that there is no trace of it left, let your Yorkie back inside and see what she does.

it could be because she knows she will get in trouble for throwing up. sometimes dogs will throw up, realize they will get in trouble, and then (to not get in trouble) will try to clean it up themselves. its VERY hard to get them out of this habit once it started, but this could possibly be the reason. hope it helped :)

It's alright it won't hurt her. I know it is gross but she doesn't realize it is throw up or anything gross. She just thinks it is more food because food is in it so she wants to eat more food.
