my 1994 Toyota pickup 22re has been heating above normal for awhile so i changed my radiator .alternator thermostat checked the fan and everything ..It still was over heating so i knew it was my head gasket i changed it and had the head sanded down and everything it is still over heating above normal! any suggestions?
I had my head plained down 16,000 i put it back together and my valves rap do i need to adjust them after i had my head plained ?i open my radiator cap up and there is no movement it is standing still it is definitely not frozen though ..keep in mind this radiator is BRAND new.

Stephen is right. Some pumps were manufactured (in the USA) which polymer used to mold the vanes, were affected by the glycol (contains alcohol) and the impellers (vanes) in the pumps were not moving any water at all.

Before you change anything - and with the car in cold - remove the rad cap, start the car and watch how much water you see MOVING inside the rad; if there's not much movement, you probably have a faulty pump.

Another thing you can do is remove the water temp sensor and test with a DVM (digital volt meter) to see if if works, as you put a lighter to it (incrementing its temp).

Good luck. You are a brave woman!

make sure you actually have coolant in your radiator and that its not frozen. If that's not the problem check to make sure your coolant pump is working.

Your Toyota is still overheating because you haven't corrected the source of the problem. Have you had a technician check it out or are you simply changing out parts? My guess would be the water pump.
