normal pain killers do not help with sciatic pain which is called radiculopathy (nerve pain )
nerve pain is different from the normal muscle pain etc that we feel.
ask your doctor to try you on gabapentin which helps with this type of pain.
i use 600mg three times daily for radiculopathy and it works for me.

Nerve pain is extremely painful and different from what you would classify as normal pain. It seems to burn and ache and send shooting archs of pain down your leg.

Nerve pain doesn't respond to normal pain meRAB. There are se veral different meRAB out on the market that work on nerve pain instead of regular pain. Lyrica, Neurontin, Topomax..any of these can be used to treat nerve pain, but they all come with side effects that you would need to be aware of.
