Several months ago my original factory Power Steering pump which was dead silent broke on me and I had to have it replaced. I took the car to a local shop and had them put in the higher quality OEM pump. The car now whines any time I give it gas (including revving in neutral), when I turn, etc. but especially when I give it gas with the wheel turned. I thought it could be air in the lines but by now it should have gone away. We had another car that ALWAYS whined and they had no idea why it did it, PS pump worked fine and it was bled out and still whined.
I'm really so sick of hearing this sound from the car, it's supercharged but the whining PS pump is louder than my supercharger...the motor is a 3800 Series II supercharged motor if that matters (but I doubt it would). Since this is a fairly new PS pump that has had plenty of time to be broken in what can I do to silence the noisy thing? It's not the same kind of whine you hear when a pump is going bad, but it's still obnoxious...
