He is two weeks old and being breastfed. For the last two days he has been making these odd noises and stretching out like he is straining. He seems to only do it when he's asleep or falling asleep.

I am a bit worried as I think he may have a tummy bug or something....i would appreciate any advice, thanks
I have been winding him after feeds with no problems and he is going to the loo fine aswell.
He is passing wind a lot while sleeping, so possibly just gas ??

Probably is a growth spurt, they usually stretch a lot more and groan. It is normal there is no harm in it. Could also be gas, there are gas drops but if it doesn't seem to bother him then i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Could be that he has a wind. Lift him out of his cot, lean him over your shoulder and rub his back till he burbs. Sure you know how to do it but just in case.:)

Most babies make noises when they are falling asleep. However if you think little one is getting a stomach bug then you need to make sure baby keeps his fluids up. Make sure to feed often since you can not give baby Tylenol till they are near 6 months old. I know it sucks to watch them hurt but there is really no meds for such a young baby unless they get really badly sick! My new born this last year had the flu at month old and doc wouldn't give anything and even the pharmacist agreed that there was really nothing you could give! He ended up being fine but I was also more cautious about who held my baby and came near him during the cold seasons since there are no remedies besides fluids! Good luck!
