Why is my N73 flashing :D

There's a wee blue LED flashing periodically above the screen while it's not being used.

How to disable this?

It's an indicator that power saving mode is in effect but the phone is still on. If you go into settings, in the phone menu, under display, there is an option for "power saver time-out" if you turn it off you won't see the blue led. However, it will negatively effect your battery life.

turning off power save mode doens't hurt your battery life enough to notice.

Isnt that counterintuitive? Having a flashing light(that obviously uses battery life) to signal power saving mode?

yeah but the light takes up WAY less power than the whole phone.

Basically, with power save mode turned off, the screen is always on but just not backlit.

With power save mode on, other than the blinking light, the phone appears to be completely powered off.

Well it can't be completely powered off. The phone still recieves calls and texts, wakes up on alarms, and accepts connections from paired bluetooth devices, however I think the screen turns of completely as do some of the OS functions. The radio is most definately still on (as is the bluetooth radio).
