Why is my HTC Hero running slow?

I had my hero for about a lil over 3 months now, and when im tryin to send a text it usually takes bout like a lil more than 7 seconds and before it jus sent it rite away. And also my text messages arrive 3 to 4 minutes late, because it shows the time wen i sent it.. and then once i recieve a text it shows a few minutes before the current time...like for example.. i send a text at 1:50...thn the text i recieve gets here at 1:55 and wen i read the text arrival time it shows 1:51..so i dont know what to do and im using a 4gb memory card...
Bout the system updates , i dont know what they do like the Firmware update, Update profile, and Update PRL... idk what they do or idk if im suppose to update it

So If you guys can help me with this ill really appreciate it....thnx!!
 
The issue is probably with your carrier. Sometimes it's just a lousy signal.

I don't know what updating a "profile" does or a "PRL", since I've never seen that on either Android phone I've owned.

The firmware update is a system update for Android. Just run it and follow the screens. It will add fixes and updated to Android.
