Why is my car freaking out on me?

I've got 03 mustang gt that I had took in to get in oil change and a checkup. Well later on that day I went out to do errands, and my car started getting freaking on me. A green light came on, my started go slow, and my RPM's was going down dramatically. So I got home and checked it, and my oil is minimal low. I thinking that maybe the cause of it. Is there anything else that could cause something like this? I aboslutely love my car and don't want anything bad to happen to it.
please help!
