Why is my burnt audio CD only playing on computers & not on a stereo/DVD player?

The format of the audio files are mp3 so it should work on a CD Playing stereo, shouldn't it? Please give me your suggestions.
Also, could the fact that the music album was downloaded as a torrent have anything to do with it? Or could the disk be faulty?

The fact that it was a torrent is immaterial. The disk itself isn't faulty, the way you burned it is. I presume you used something like iTunes to burn it? If you didn't I suggest you do. If you use iTunes, insert a blank disk and it will appear in iTunes. Choose the songs or playlist you want to burn and click burn in the lower right hand corner of the window. It will as you what kind of burn you want to make (Audio CD, mp3 CD, and Data CD). You want to choose audio CD and the highest quality for everything. (1x will be slower but it will be much more reliable). The reason you do it slow is so that the burn is more "detailed" and will make it easier to read by a wide variety of players.
