why is my bike chain scratching the large chainring?

So it appears the the chain is scratching the large chainring and making an ugly noise and everything on that bike is new the crank front derailleur and everything. But my frame came with a smaller bottom bracket and i used the one that came with the crank and when i look it seems that the chain sort of goes diagonal because the crank is too far out what should i do put the bottom bracket that came with the frame or take it to performance bicycle. It's a road bike.
 
There is a placement screw on the derailer. Spinning this a bit will move move it a tiny bit in one direction or the other. This screw is kind of sensitive though so be carefull.
