Why is my ball python being super aggressive?

I just bought a year old Ball Python online, and when I recieved the snake, it was curled up in a rock formation and huddled in a ball. I left the snake alone assuming it was a bit shook up and put the rock structure in its cage. A few minutes later I return to find the snake curiously checking out the cage. An hour later I go to pick up the snake and it seems like she will not stop moving. She is constantly moving in my hands like she is seemingly trying to escape. I return her to the cage and leave the room. now when I walk in the room she is constantly trying to lift the top off the cage, and when I go to pick her up she assumes striking positions. She is 2ft. long. should I wait it out? return to the previous cage? she's not hungry, she was fed the previous day.
