...smells of gas in my car? I have a V 6 engine, (3.4 L) in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT. I recently did a tune-up replacing all 6 spark plugs and wires. All of them were in pretty bad shape.
While changing Spark Plug # 3

I smelled raw gas venting from the empty hole. My engine starts really slow, whether its hot or cold, and I keep Smelling raw gas immediatly after I start the engine and turn on my heat or air. Then it fades away after it idles for a while. I have had this problem ever since July 2008 and it seemed to get worse after I did the tune up.
What could be the problem?

I would think one of the valves is stuck open or closed, not allowing the gas to burn off as it should in that piston.Do a compression test
