why is my 18mnth old constantly screaming and whining?

he seems to have a lot of energy, he's up and around all day long, and still gets up twice during the night. he rarely sits to watch t.v like he did when he was younger and honestly he is just driving me crazy, i'm finishing up my senior year in college and don't have time to do anything. What can i do...he likes to play and run but sometimes he jst seems unhappy........please help...
 
Does he nap????
If yes, then discourage all naps, and make sure he goes outside to unwind and let all of his energy loose. He is simply not EXHAUSTED enough throughout the day and at bedtime.
 
They are just so good at pushing buttons and know when you are the most tired and at whits end. Just remember one thing, that it is a good sign that he is curious and smart. He's really not doing it to drive you crazy. I suggest giving lots of positive feedback when he talks in a quiet/indoor voice and ignore the screaming/whining as best as possible. If he learns he can get your attention or you'll give in when he's being difficult he'll keep seeing how much further he can push you.
