but rarely, if ever discussed with females in health classes?

This topic came up over lunch between some old male and female friends. The men noted they were often told during sex ed that masturbation was a completely healthy and normal activity. One male friend said his teacher even went so far to tell the boys to "whack away." However none of the females nor myself ever heard mention of masturbation during sex ed.
From what I gather this is still common in health classes today.

guys r more open "to whack away" us girls r a bit more shy sum girls will never admit but guys r straight forward, if u ask one of ur friend s that r girls if they do it, i promise most of them will say "eww, no way" as i say guys straight forward no matter hoe dumb u think they r

Because boys will be boys and they will do it anyways, and by promoting it we are promoting abstinence. Girls being told to be frisky only opens the door for boys to influence them to make the next step up from self pleasure. boys, whack and not have sex, girls, keep your pants on, is what they are trying to promote.

I was raised Muslim and went to Muslim Sunday school for a while. I went to an all girls class with female instructors, and the young female instructors would talk about masturbation. Yes, it's true. Muslim girls in Muslim Sunday school talking about masturbation. But then this was a liberal mosque in the US... they also had co-ed classes, but people only talked about personal things like that in the gender segregated classes.

I think it's extremely prudent to not talk about masturbation in health/sex-ed class. What is the big deal anyway?

i know right?
i thought when i was a young teen i was doing something weird and no one else did it. poor me. it would have been so liberating to know lol

because girls don't have a dingalo. Only boys do silly. Truth is though, I think it's because boys are silly little dummies who constantly need direction. And BTW, I was in grade school in the 80's and if a teacher brought that up, he or she would be crucified. I leaned about it the hard way- fluke. I almost ran to the doctor because i didn't know what happened.

I think it's because people see it as 'taboo' for girls to be interested in sex. They don't want to encourage that in girls because, God forbid, they get pleasure from a source other than a penis.

Because it's less common for girls to be curious about masturbation. I'm not saying girls don't mastubate, but I know that it's a lot less who do whereas almost all guys do it. Plus, they have a lot to cover with girls (periods and such) that they don't have to cover with guys so they probably have more time to talk about that.

i think it's because men have more of the sex drive: no offense to the males. i guess it's just more common for them.
