Why is burning/writing necessary?
I'm trying to back up all my Merlin episodes to a DVD by just copying it without writing whatsoever.
Can anyone kindly explain the disadvantages of this? Thanks.
@Brian I think I got that a bit. But if i'll just use the DVD for backing up videos (like a hard drive) and not for playing purposes, do I still need to write/burn it?
I have no intention of playing the stored files anyway on a dvd player because it won't work, right? Kinda like burning/writing allows it to be in a format that is playable on a dvd player?
I tried to copy videos on a dvd and they're playable on my computer, anyway. I'm still confuse about the disadvantages.
Thanks for trying to explain it, though!
