why is it when there's bad news people attribute it to God and the Bible?

Look at it like this

If a plane crashed and everyone was unharmed-it would be a miracle no one was hurt.

If the same plane crashed and 50 out of 100 died- it would be a miracle that more didn't die

If the same plane crashed and only one survived it would be a miracle the guy lived.

It is all depending on if you are a glass half full or half empty type of person on your perspective of anything going on. Notice it was never god's fault that some of the people died in two of the incidents

Religious people usually say it was the hand of god if someone is saved and that god work in mysterious ways if something goes bad.

Because some people have an 'end of days' mentality and believe God is personally invested in every minor issue of their lives. For the same reason people thank God for their 'win' in a game, as though God had it out for the other team or just didn't find that team as holy. The Bible has numerous apocalytic verses, meant for that time and those people...to keep them on 'the path of righteousness'. However, modern believers tend to think that apocalyptic literature is written for them and this time period....thus all of the fires and plagues are 'an act of God' for our 'immorality and sinfulness'.

People look for anything to blame their problems on other than themselves. They just don't want to except the fact that they screwed up, So they use "God" as an excuse to why their life sucks.
In my opinion that's all that religion is, Just an excuse.
