Why is it that when i put a recording disk in to my computer,nothing pops up on...

...windows medias player.? When i PUT a disk in to my computer to burn some music off of windows media player,nothing pops up. it dosent read or anything. the copy button on windows media dosent even high light for me to click the link.What should i do if the disk wont pop up as a device or read? Please help.
